Principal scientist involved: Holger Strulik is Director of the Institute
of Macroeconomics at the University of Hannover. He holds a PhD from the
University of Goettingen and a Doctorate (Habilitation) from the University of
Hamburg. He has worked at the economics departments of the universities of
Cambridge, U.K. (as Post Doc), Hamburg (Assistant Professor) and Copenhagen
(Associate Professor). At Hannover he holds a full professorship for economics
and leads the research unit on Theoretical and Quant itative
Macroeconomics.

Principal scientist involved: Alexia Fürnkranz-Prskawetz is deputy director
of the Vienna Institute of Demography where she also heads the group
on Population Economics. Since February 2008 she holds a chair in Mathematical
Economics at the Vienna University of Technology. She is educated in economics
and demography and her major research topics include the economic impact of
population ageing with special focus on the labour market effects of a
shrinking and ageing labour force, long run economic development and
population growth as well as the relation between fertility and female labour
force participation. She was heading a group on Population Economics at the
Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, Rostock for five years before
she joined the Vienna Institute of Demography in autumn 2003.
